The Price of Religious Freedom

Freedom of Conscience may be a more accurate term to describe what the founder’s were after. I think foremost in their thoughts were the persecutions of those who fell away from State Sponsored Religions. The LDS (Mormons) experienced plenty of State Sponsored persecutions by Protestants for their beliefs in their early days. Eternal vigilance and a robust self-defense capability are the price of liberty. The Constitution and Law protect no one in reality.
